Muji 5 drawer acrylic case review

25 Apr

Hi Guys,

I’d temporarily abandoned my blogging duties due to a new full time job, traveling to California, and doing a lot of house/dogsitting and various other things.

I’ve been waiting to order the MUJI 5-drawer acrylic cases, and they came in a stock a few days ago, so I ordered them immediately to make sure I snagged at least two.

These drawers are really pleasing and fit makeup really well. They have a rubber type material on the bottom so they don’t move around and are really easy to stack. Muji 5 drawer acrylic case review

The drawers seem nicely made and it’s awesome to be able to see all of my products, making it way easier to find what I’m looking for, or just browse. Muji 5 drawer acrylic case review

I’m waiting for the two drawer acrylic cases to come in stock, so there will be a part two to this review. The two-drawer cases will fit my larger items. It would be awesome to get all of my makeup into this system.

As for packaging, The drawers come wrapped really well, so you likely don’t have to worry about them breaking or anything. Also, they got to my doorstep in about 3 days of ordering.

On a side note, I’m really enjoying Shellac manicures. I have extremely fragile, weak, thin nails, and this makes them sooo much stronger. This picture was a couple days after I got them done.

I was only home for a limited amount of time, but was overly excited about getting some makeup into the drawers, but once I have more time to organize them more to look more appealing, I’ll update, and tempt everyone to need these drawers as well.

Makeup Organization | Storage & FOTD

14 Mar

I was organizing my room, and decided I have too much makeup that I very rarely use. I find myself reaching for the same things most of the time. So I got ready yesterday using products I haven’t touched in awhile, going out of my comfort zone.

Here is the “abandoned product” result…Makeup FOTD

  • Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne – this didn’t have as amazing of coverage that I would have liked, but this could have also been because it was only a test bottle.
  • Topshop Turquoise Kohl Eyeliner
  • mark. glow xpert face shimmer – my pictures didn’t do it much justice, but this is a really pretty face highlight, i’m glad I rediscovered it in my drawer.
  • Loreal eyeshadow quad in forrest green
  • Maybelline eye studio gel liner
  • Maybelline XXL Pro mascara

I tend to be in a hurry when I take pictures after applying makeup, so you’ll probably notice that my lips still have foundation or something on them still that I forget to wipe off.Winged Eyeliner FOTD

I didn’t have much of a plan when putting this look together, so I didn’t put blush or finishing touches on it, but it was good to try out different products that are just sitting around. I need to force myself to do that occassionaly.

So I figured I would share my makeup collection, even though it’s slightly dirty..

My messy slew of foundation, I acquired most of these on the search for the best liquid foundation, there’s been some great contenders but the search continues…
I throw all of my perfume and small samples in the back, which I always forget to try out and throw away.

My new, broken Maybelline Age Rewind eye brightener 😦
I reused a few patterned boxes (you can just use thick paper) to TRY and make this bulky drawer attractive. I’m planning on spray painting it a different color, until I get my hands on the Muji drawers.

I’m working with a really small area to store my products, can’t wait until it can all be nicely spread out.

Polder® Style Station Hair Care Storage Review

7 Feb

Do you have a decent amount of hair appliances? I’ve always just thrown mine aimlessly under the counter in a cluttered mess, until this…

(don’t mind my beautiful bathroom floor)

I have the Polder® Style Station Hair Care Storage mounted inside my bathroom cabinet door, so everything is neatly placed. The best part, it doesn’t have to sit out on the counter until it cools, because it has a stainless steel, mesh body and internal silicone base insulator. You can throw it right in immediately after use.

It has three compartments, all fairly good in size. The middle is perfect for a blow dryer and the two ends can be used for curling iron, straighteners or various brushes/parts. My 1.5″ HOT Tools curling iron fits easily into the side compartment.

There is also a small compartment in the back for attachments or cords, I do sometimes wish it were a little bigger, but then again, this is supposed to be compact.

Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery Review

19 Dec

I went to staples to pick up Sharpies, just Sharpies, of course I don’t leave without spending $75. I discovered Martha Stewart with Avery’s Home Office line. I wanted everything.Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery Review

I found this paper holder thingy to place on your desk (or anywhere, really) which acts as the base, and there are a ton of stackable option to add to it. As you can see I bought the long four  slot piece, with a cover. Everything is made so nice, and it actually tucks perfectly into the base piece. I’m definitely going to be going back and slowly adding to this. Either way, it’s just so cute.

There were also a bunch of booklets with 40% off an item coupons, (which I cleverly tucked in the drawer) which the cashier let me use a few of. So I also got a nice planner for the year and a journal. I was attracted to everything because of the appearance, but it’s all so handy and useful.

This collection has beautiful colors, which can accent any room. I believe they offer just white, black/brown, and this turquoise. They all have this simple pattern on them, which I’m not sure if you’re able to see from my photos.

They also had the chalk labels and various kinds of label and tags for pretty much anything. Magazine holders which double as filing organization, and matching pencil holders. I need it all.
